Founded by Gary Lee, LIGHTMED was built on the principle that laser technology should serve the physician, not complicate their practice. Every product we design reflects that philosophy: superior optics, intuitive operation, and uncompromising reliability.

The Foundation for Ophthalmic Lasers
Launch of the LIGHTLas YAG with CrystalQ™ Precision Pulse Technology, establishing LIGHTMED's first platform in photodisruption technology for cataract and glaucoma patients. This set the foundation for future ophthalmic innovation.
LIGHTLas 532 Photocoagulator Launch
Introduction of the LIGHTLas 532, expanding LIGHTMED's capabilities in retinal photocoagulation and accelerating global adoption.
Infrared Wavelength Development
Launch of the LIGHTLas 810 Infrared Laser, expanding LIGHTMED's capabilities into glaucoma therapy and deeper retinal applications.
Major Platform Expansion Year
Advancing SLT for Glaucoma: Entry into selective laser trabeculoplasty for open-angle glaucoma, the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide.

Global Office Expansion
LIGHTMED establishes its U.S. operations office in San Clemente, California, strengthening service, distribution, and clinical education infrastructure while reinforcing global quality standards through ISO 13485 certified operations.
Multi-Wavelength Systems & TruScan Pattern Scanning Platform
Development of the advanced PrismCore™ multi-wavelength laser technology and the TruScan pattern scanning platform, improving treatment speed, workflow efficiency, and clinical versatility.
Multi-Specialty Expansion
LIGHTMED expands beyond ophthalmology into dental and dermatology. The SAPPHIRE Er:YAG Dental Laser is powered by Fiberless Core Tech™, eliminating fragile fiber optics by engineering the laser source directly inside the handpiece. The DermaLight KTP Aesthetics Laser brings precision treatment to vascular and pigmented lesions.
Mexico National ROP Program
